Introduction  

Health, Safety, & Environmental Policy

MMI’s policy is to manage all operations in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, customers, contractors, client property, the environment, and the public.  To accomplish this MMI will:

Advise each manager, supervisor, and employee of safety and health requirements and hold them accountable for their performance.

bullet

Design and manage operations to minimize environmental and human health impacts and provide workplace free of recognized safety hazards.

bullet

Comply with laws and regulations governing safety, health, and environmental protection.

bullet

Recognize the importance of health, safety, and environmental factors where there is competition with economic factors.

bullet

Monitor, evaluate, and report performance in safety, health, and environmental protection

bullet

Participate in programs designed to enhance knowledge and improve technology, laws, and regulations.

 

Manager / Consultant / Inspector Responsibilities

The Manager / Consultant / Inspector is responsible for giving safety and loss prevention primary consideration with other factors that affect daily business decisions.  In doing so, he or she should project an attitude that ALL injuries can be prevented.

 

The Manager / Consultant / Inspector is responsible for actively supporting safety and loss prevention performance in their areas by:

Communicating safety rules and standards to visitors and contractor employees.

bullet

Setting safe examples.

bullet

Strictly enforcing safety rules and standards.

bullet

Reporting and investigating incidents, injuries, and serious potential incidents, as per client’s requirements.

bullet

Conducting routine safety inspections.

bullet

Promptly correcting unsafe conditions.

bullet

Evaluating and documenting contractor health, safety, and environmental performance.

bullet

Attend regular safety meetings conducted by the client and/or contractor.

 

The Manager / Consultant / Inspector is responsible for providing the tools necessary for a safe working environment.  These tools include required safety and operations training, proper equipment, safety and engineering support, and safe facility designs.

 

The Manager / Consultant / Inspector will create an atmosphere in which safety issues can be pro-actively discussed and resolved.
