General Safety Rules  

Communication

bullet

Immediately report all injuries and / or incidents, no matter how minor, to your site supervisor and MMI Management.  If necessary treat the injury at the nearest appropriate medical facility.

All fires, leaks, and spills, no matter how small, are to be reported immediately to your site supervisor and MMI Management.

bullet

Immediately report any unsafe conditions or practices to your site supervisor and MMI Management.  Unsafe equipment must be tagged to prevent use.

 

Personal Actions

Do not operate equipment for which you are not trained.

bullet

Horseplay or fighting is prohibited.

bullet

All drivers and passengers MUST wear seat belts while conducting MMI business.  The driver is responsible for ensuring that ALL passengers are wearing seat belts prior to putting the vehicle in motion.

Smoking is NOT permitted in MMI offices.

bullet

When ascending or descending stairways, use the handrail and take only one step at a time.

bullet

Running in work areas, except for emergency purposes, is prohibited.

 

Illegal Drugs and Weapons

MMI has a vital interest in maintaining safe, healthy, and efficient working conditions.  MMI is aware of the problems presented by person(s) under the influence of drugs or alcohol as well as person(s) possessing deadly weapons and explosives.  MMI therefore has adopted a Drug and Alcohol Policy.

 

USING, POSSESSING, OR BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, ILLEGAL DRUGS, OR UNAUTHORIZED MEDICALLY PRESCRIBED DRUGS ON COMPANY PREMISES OR WHILE CONDUCTING COMPANY BUSINESS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

 

THE POSSESSION OF UNAUTHORIZED FIREARMS, DEADLY WEAPONS, OR EXPLOSIVES ON COMPANY PREMISES OR WHILE CONDUCTING COMPANY BUSINESS IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

 

REFER TO MMI DRUG POLICY.

 

Inform your immediate supervisor if you are required to take medication during work hours.  Deadly weapons include a firearm or anything designed, made for, or adapted for the purpose of inflicting bodily harm.

 

Department of Transportation (DOT) Drug Testing

Pre-employment and random drug screening is required of personnel who perform an operation, maintenance, or emergency response function on facilities or pipelines covered by DOT regulations.
