First Aid  

Office

In the event of any injury notify your manager and provide first aid to the extent that you are trained and are qualified.

First aid treatment should be readily available to properly treat job-related injuries or any serious personal illness that may occur.

There will be a properly stocked first aid kit available in the work area.

Emergency medical and key personnel phone numbers should be readily available.

bullet

A first aid log should be kept on all injuries and illnesses.

 

Offshore

A person who has a valid certificate in First Aid training by the American Red Cross or an equivalent shall be available at the worksite to render emergency first aid.  While inspectors / consultants are offshore, the first aid supplies will be furnished by contractor.  In the event of any injury, notify onsite contractor superintendent or vessel captain and provide first aid to the extent that you are trained and are qualified.  Then notify the client representative and MMI management.

bulletPersonnel trained in CPR and First Aid must be available onsite.
bulletThere will be a properly stocked first aid kit available in the work area provided by and maintained by client.  Client is responsible for checking the contents of the first aid kits prior to each job and weekly during the job.
bulletClient is responsible for posting emergency phone numbers.

Follow up Care

As required, follow up care shall be provided to all injured or ill personnel.  In the event of a life-threatening medical problem the Emergency Medical System shall be activated.  Onshore this usually entails dialing 911 and requesting emergency medical care.  Offshore the client’s Emergency Response Plan is activated.  This plan includes the method of transporting the injured person to medical facilities.

 

Return to Work / Light Duty Program

If an injury results in a Lost Time Case, the company shall assign a representative to assure the individual receives appropriate care and returns to work as soon as possible.  For personnel who are temporarily not able to fully perform their duties Light Duty Work may be provided.  It is MMI's objective to return personnel to work as soon as medically permissible.

 

Training

Personnel must be trained annually in the requirements of this program.  All training must be documented.
